Reclaiming Power Through Feminist Humanitarianism
From 1 - 3 July 2025 in Arusha, Tanzania, the Feminist Humanitarian Network held its inaugural Members’ Summit. Sixty-five feminist leaders from across the globe came together at a critical moment for humanitarian action, reaffirming that feminist leadership is an urgent necessity. The summit created a space to breathe, share stories, strengthen trust, and imagine futures forged in collective courage and solidarity.
This report documents why we gathered, how we gathered, and what we created together at the inaugural FHN Members’ Summit. It amplifies the voices, priorities, and solutions that emerged from those three powerful days, demanding that donors and partners move beyond empty rhetoric to provide real, tangible support for feminist humanitarian action.
In these pages, the stories, strategies, and sparks of our Summit come alive. It shows how feminist leadership drives change, challenges old systems, and demands that those with power step up with tangible support for communities on the frontlines.
