Feminist Humanitarian Action: Still Holding the Line

Across the world, feminist and women’s rights organisations are leading humanitarian response. Holding communities together in crisis, rebuilding with care, and demanding justice in systems that too often fail them. Yet, as funding cuts deepen and the space for feminist action shrinks, their survival, and the survival of those they serve, is under threat.

Our new report, titled Feminist Humanitarian Action: Still Holding the Line, draws from a survey and conversations across our movement. It captures the lived realities of women’s rights organisations facing shrinking resources while standing firm in their commitment to justice and care. It lays bare the impact of funding cuts and shares how feminists continue to resist, adapt, and lead despite mounting challenges.

Inside, you’ll find the voices and experiences of those at the forefront of crisis response—stories of persistence, solidarity, and collective power. The report also highlights urgent calls to action for donors, governments, and humanitarian actors to shift the way funding and decision-making happen, placing feminist leadership where it belongs: at the centre.

As the humanitarian system grapples with unprecedented crises, we ask donors, governments, INGOs, and UN agencies to stop trimming feminist response. Fund it like survival itself. Fund it as strategy for lasting change.

We ask you to read the report and understand deeply the cost of these funding cuts, share it to amplify feminist voices who refuse to be silent in the face of injustice, and to take meaningful action for change.
